Apple has released a new Mac OS (Operating System) Lion (10.7) recently.
If you have a Plustek Scanner with Silverfast software bundle and experiencing difficulties/ problem with Mac OS Lion, this is due to the previous version of Silverfast not compatible with Mac OS Lion.

You will need to upgrade your Silverfast software from your current version to the latest version, Silverfast 8.
Silverfast 8 is available to download in Silverfast website.
Depending on your eligibility, you may be able to upgrade your software for free or for a fee.

Silverfast website states:
All customers who will purchase or have purchased a copy of SilverFast version 6.6 after June 1st, 2011
will get a free upgrade to SilverFast 8 until the end of the year. This offer is naturally also valid for
SilverFast versions bundled with a scanner device or purchased from a dealer.

We also have a special upgrade offer for our customers who have been using SilverFast for a longer time.
Depending on the version number of an existing copy of SilverFast a discount of 20%, 30% or even 50% may apply.

In order to upgrade your Silverfast software, please:

1. Register your current Silverfast software in Silverfast website if you haven't done so here.
   You will need your current Silverfast serial number and info on when & where you purchased the software/ bundled with the scanner.
2. Once you have register the software, you can use Silverfast's web assistant to validate whether your SilverFast version is qualified for a free or reduced upgrade to SilverFast 8 here.
3. Once they verify your serial number, they will be able to determine your eligibility and provide you with upgrade options.
